A woman seeking a surgical abortion may determine "whether the final disposition will be by cremation or interment". If she elects not to make that decision, the abortion facility performing the procedure is required do so.
Those who violate the law will be found "guilty of failure to dispose of fetal remains humanely, a misdemeanor of the first degree".
Crematory operators, meanwhile, are mandated to either place the human remains in a crypt or grave, or else "scatter them in any dignified manner".
